Uwi na!
The Balikbayan Program (RA 6768, as amended by RA 9174) gives returning Filipinos and former Filipinos real privileges. Here's what to know before you book.
1 year visa-free
Former Filipinos with a U.S. passport can stay up to one year each visit. Bring your old PH passport or PSA birth certificate. Your non-Filipino spouse and children qualify too when traveling with you.
eTravel, every trip
All arriving passengers register at etravel.gov.ph within 72 hours before arrival and show the QR code. It's free — ignore sites that charge. Declare cash over US$10,000.
Dual citizenship
Natural-born Filipinos who became U.S. citizens can reacquire Philippine citizenship under RA 9225 at a consulate. About $50 for you and $25 per dependent. You keep U.S. citizenship.
Duty-free shopping allowance
Balikbayans get a once-a-year duty-free shopping allowance at Philippine duty-free stores, used in person within 48 hours of arrival.
